Chair’s Message, November 2019

We are always in need of energetic volunteers with a positive and collaborative attitude to help us with Section activities. There are micro-volunteering activities for those whose time is limited. Any member of the IEEE Long Island Section is welcome to attend the Executive Committee meetings. If you would like further information on any of our activities, please contact me at chair@ieee.li.

Voting for the 2020 LI Section Officer positions was completed on October 31st in accordance with the Long Island Section Operations Manual. The results are:

Section Chair: Arnold Stillman
Vice Chair: Ronald Pirich
Treasurer: Santo Mazzola
Secretary: Rhonda Green

I would like to thank all of the candidates for volunteering to serve the Long Island Section.

The following conferences and seminars are scheduled for the month of November:

NOVEMBER 7th: Long Island Section 2019 Power Electronics Symposium https://www.ieee.li/pes

Refer to the informational flyers in this edition of the PULSE for further information. Please check the Long Island Section website and calendar frequently to stay informed about all of our upcoming events. One of the many contributions that Jesse Taub made was the monthly “LI Electrical and Electronics History” article in the PULSE. Many members enjoyed reading his articles. Please consider volunteering to submit a monthly history article.

Thank you for your support of our Section, and I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming events. My best wishes to you and your families for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Warm regards,
Louis D’Onofrio, PE, SM
