Welcome to Summer 2025! As we approach the midpoint of the year, I’m proud to share that the IEEE Long Island Section has already achieved several exciting firsts in 2025—thanks to your dedication, support, and commitment to excellence. One major highlight was the IEEE R1/R2 Student Conference 2025, held at Stony Brook University. The enthusiasm and generosity of our volunteers and financial supporters were unparalleled and instrumental to the event’s success.
The Amity University International Conference on Engineering, Technology & Management (ICETM) 2025, hosted at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s New Jersey campus, marked another milestone. It was the first time this IEEE joint-conference took place in the United States—and the Long Island Section proudly served as both technical sponsor and Steering Committee participant.
We also celebrated record-setting performance at the IEEE MicroMouse Competition, once again hosted by New York Tech. The Stevens Institute of Technology achieved a remarkable Region 1/Region 2 milestone, reaching the goal in just 14 seconds.
These groundbreaking accomplishments will be featured in my upcoming Section Leader Report, to be presented at the IEEE Region 1 and Region 2 Joint Meeting in Arlington, VA.
Thank you for your continued contributions and leadership. I hope you enjoy a safe and restful summer, and I look forward to reconnecting at our next ExCom meeting on September 23rd.
Warm regards,
Rhonda Green
