The IEEE Long Island Section has been continuing its sincere effort serving the Members as well as the community. Successful completion of the twelfth Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology (LISAT) conference is a major indication of the Section’s accomplishments. The conference has been a great success where a significant number of Researchers both from academia and industry exchanged their views and ideas about the future trends in technological developments. Almost all the major companies in the field showcased their products and discussed on the future developments. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Program Committee, Technical Program Committee, Exhibit Committee, Publications Committee and Facilities Management Committee of LISAT for organizing a successful conference and acknowledge their great contributions towards the Section. All the supporters and volunteers are highly appreciated.
Another great success that has been credited to the Section is the Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) Symposium & Exhibits held on April 14, 2016. We were amazed to see a huge crowd along with exhibitors and distinguished speakers. I hope you would join me congratulating the MTT Society Chapter for organizing a successful event.
The Section is continuing to offering a number of technical activities and seminars where highly recognized experts and researchers are giving lectures on state-of-the-art topics. Please take the opportunity to attend these activities for your professional development purposes.
The new website of the Section is now up for the general audience. Please visit the website and let us know your experience and comments for future developments.
The Section is also planning to provide mentoring services to our young Engineers and Scientists on various topics. I would appreciate your letting us know if you or your colleague needs any such service. In addition, if you have any comment or recommendation, please let us know at chair@ieee.li so that we can better serve you and help the growth of technology in the region.
Thanking you,
