IEEE Long Island Section’s Awards Banquet 2016 was held in Fox Hollow, Long Island, on March 31. On this annual event, the IEEE Long Island Section recognizes accomplishments of extraordinary engineers and computer scientists with significant contributions towards the industry, growth of the Long Island Section and the IEEE Region 1. This year we honored six IEEE Region 1 awardees and nine Section awardees across all categories, who continue their excellence in enhancing the technological development of the society.
This year the IEEE Long Island Section also commended the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe for its stimulating innovation and honor of Nikola Tesla, and the creation of a world-class science, technology and engineering educational facility and museum at the site of the Tesla’s laboratory at Wardenclyffe on Long Island.
The most strength of the Section comes from its volunteers who offer valuable time and effort to run the activities. The Awards Banquet also recognized the outstanding volunteers of the Section.
Our Section, volunteers and members appreciate the outstanding support we have received from various Long Island organizations through sponsorships and advertisements. The Awards Banquet is another opportunity to recognize IEEE Long Island organizations and companies supporting the Section and IEEE in general.
The success of the Awards Banquet is highly dependent on tremendous work of the Section Officers who have been working very hard over the last couple of months to organize this Awards Banquet and ensure its success.
