Nominations deadline: June 30, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n How to nominate: send an email to <\/strong>chair@ieee.li<\/strong><\/a>, or contact any of the Nominating Committee members via email.<\/strong><\/p>\n To be eligible, a nominee must be:<\/strong><\/p>\n IEEE Long Island Section has seven officer positions. The following officer positions are up for election:<\/p>\n The following officer positions are filled in accordance with the Section\u2019s Bylaws and are not up for election:<\/p>\n The terms of these officers are one year, extending from January 1 to December 31. Exceptionally, an officer\u2019s term shall continue until a successor is duly elected and takes office, but not for longer than two consecutive years.<\/p>\n Service as a volunteer on the Section\u2019s Executive Committee in an officer position is a chance to help drive the decisions of our professional association and shape the future of our Section, associated Chapters and Groups, and the IEEE organization as a whole. The opportunity to work with other leaders in the Section\u2019s Executive Committee allows one to be on the cutting edge of membership concerns and to be part of the decision-making process on the regional level, driving the strategic goals or the organization. It is an exciting time to join the leadership of the Section and help us move into our ambitious future.<\/p>\n Our Section is driven by volunteers, contributing their time and efforts to benefit all Long Island professionals, not only IEEE Section members.
